Too much horsepower, not enough tire(Autox related

Well, had my first real normal autox(weather)with the whole new car. The bigger boost, the less weight, test pipe......

I can say that it is really more of a handfull than what i expected. Number one i noticed was that with all the weight taken out of different places in the car, the car does not seem to rotate(oversteer)as it should. Solution, change out spring rates, softer front, even HARDER rears.

As for tires, my 205's just dont get the job done at all. I ended up having to goto 3rd gear and not really LUGG the gears, cause its got gobs of downlow torque, but i still wasnt in the RPM range that would benefit me the best. Solution, 15x8 rims with 225/45 hoosiers.

The car did great, dont get me wrong, im fairly confident that it was in the top 10 out of 70? cars there.

So, here begins rework on the suspension/driving skills. I guess it could be worse, i could have engine related issues? KNOCK ON WOOD!

P.S. People(some riceboys)were amazed when they saw NO fancy electronics, cam gears, or anything weird under the hood or inside the car. Im sure they didnt believe me either when i told them ive been running the blower for about 4+ years. Hell, im still runnin' the ol' JR RELAY! How ghetto am i! Just make sure you get Hoosier SLICKS, not the Radials that Tirerack carries.

Max Psi GSR: Are you using R compound tires or street tires?

I almost always have more power available than I can use on an auto-x course on street tires.

I get to play on some used R compounds this year thanks to a friends last year's tires. I should get 2 or 3 events on them. It will be interesting how fast I get going!
